Hello there! And welcome. I’m so happy you have found your way here! No really I am! I thought for this first post I would tell you a bit more about myself so you would know I am a real live human.
Where do I start? Oh, I know!!! My name is Morgan, she/her pronouns. I have lived in Oregon my entire life… well basically. I grew up in Fall Creek playing outside, skinning my knees, and always running around barefoot.
My first introduction to birth was when my older sister had her son. I was in my early teens and was amazed by how strong my sister was birthing this brand new baby into the world. I also had the please to be with my sister again when she had her daughter a few year later. I remember holding her hand and supporting her during contractions. I even got to cut my niece’s umbilical because her dad tried to pass out during her birth!
I knew healthcare was something I wanted to do so I found a CNA training at a local retirement facility. I quickly knew it wasn’t right place for me but appreciated the experience I received while I was there. Soon after I went on to work at that very hospital my sister gave birth in years earlier. I have been at that same hospital now for almost 14 years!
What have I been doing in my adult life, besides working? What was my push to work in the birth world? Well thats a topic for another post! Stay tuned for more!
