What is a Birth Doula?
A birth doula is someone who helps support a birthing family during pregnancy and birth. They are NOT a medical provider like a midwife or nurse. Instead they help with supporting emotional needs and offering unbiased information related to pregnancy and birth. They do NOT perform medical checks or perform any kind of procedure. They are trained in non medical ways to help the birthing person cope with labor and offer reassurance in times of difficulty. They offer information in a non biased or judgmental way so the birthing person can make their own choices. The birth doula is someone who will empower you, support your choices and put your needs first.
What is it like having a birth photographer?
Every big event in life is full of emotions and feels like times moves so much quicker. Birth is no different. When you have a birth photographer we are like the fly on the wall that is just there observing and capturing things as they happen. There is no posing, no censorship and no intervention from the photographer. We are there to simply document your birth story exactly as it happened. We respect everyone’s privacy and will never post any of your birth photos without written permission. You are welcome to share them or just keep them for yourself. Hiring a birth photographer means having the raw emotions and beauty of your birth captured so you can slow down time.
